Prof. Dr. Ir. Abubakar, M.S. was born in Rikit Gaib, Southeast Aceh on October 1962. He obtained Bachelor degree from Department of Soil Science, Faculty of Agricultural, Syiah Kuala University in 1987. In 1990 till 1999 pursued advanced degreee at Bogor Agricultural University (IPB), Bogor and obtained master degree in 1993 and Doctoral 1999 in field of land evaluation and land evaluation and regional development.

Prof. Dr. Ir. Abubakar., MS. research focuses on sustainable agriculture and land use management, particularly in the context of coffee production and other crops in Indonesia. They examine the impact of environmental factors like soil properties, elevation, and shading on crop yields, with a special emphasis on Arabica coffee. Their work includes developing sustainable agricultural models for crops such as palm oil and citronella, considering the economic, social, and environmental factors that influence their viability. The scientist also investigates soil fertility, soil conservation, and land suitability to optimize land use while promoting long-term environmental sustainability. Their research aims to improve agricultural practices and balance productivity with ecological preservation.
